Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to target 1.75 lakh governemt job

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his government is moving forward from giving one lakh government jobs to set a target of completing 1.7 lakh state government jobs by May 2026.

Recently, the Assam Government distributed appointment letters to 385 candidates at GMCH auditorium. Including these appointments, the total number of jobs through new recruitment reached 125030.

“We will give another 40000 appointments by the end of May 2025 through the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE 2.0) in Grade III and Grade IV categories. Moreover, 15000 to 2000 appointments will be given through recruitment of the Assam Police and Education departments”- the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made revolutionary changes in the state job recruitments. His initiative to form a State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) for recruitment of Grade III and Grade IV posts under the various departments of the state government is truly appreciable.

Through the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination, thousands of potential candidates has been appointed as government employees on May 26, 2024.

In July 2024, the Assam government announced its largest-ever recruitment drive, aiming to fill approximately 35,000 vacancies across various departments by May 2025. On 31st of October 2024 the drive might complete the first phase (written examination phase) of the recruitment drive.

The Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lead government has made a positive impact on the educated youths of Assam through these genuine recruitment drives since 2021. From the Assam Public Service Commission to the State Level Recruitment Commission and from the recruitment of teachers to the recruitment of police personnel, the government has been doing tremendous work.
