The PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration process has started on 12th, October 2024. It’s a scheme announced in the financial budget 2024-25 aiming to provide one crore internship opportunities in top 500 companies in five years. A pilot project of the scheme targeted at providing 1.25 lakh internship opportunities has been launched for the financial year 2024-25.The top companies for this project has been identified on the basis of their CSR contribution in last three years.
The PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration
The registration of applicants is currently live in the portal. Candidates may apply for a maximum of 5 different internship programs. Intending and eligible candidates are requested to complete their registration process through the (www.pminternship.mca.gov.in) official website only. Below we shall discuss eligibility and ineligibility criteria of the PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration.
Eligibility Criteria for the PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration
Age
The age of the candidate must be between 18 to 24 years only (as on the last date for submission of online application).
Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India as well as he/she must be residing in India.
Educational Qualifications
The candidates must have completed your Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent, Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent, or hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a graduation degree such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
Applicants must not be employed full-time or engaged in full-time education (candidates enrolled in online or distance learning programmes are eligible).
Ineligibility Conditions of the PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration
Applicants are ineligible on the following grounds:
- Candidates below 21 years or above 24 years of age (as on the last date for application submission).
- Candidates currently engaged in full-time employment or full-time education.
- Candidates have graduated from specific institutions like IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, or IIITs.
- Candidates hold qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, PhD, or any
master’s or higher degree (recognized by the UGC). - Candidates undergoing any skill, apprenticeship, internship, or training programme
under a Central or State Government scheme. - Candidates have already completed an apprenticeship under the National
Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion
Scheme (NAPS). - The income of any of your family members (self, parents, or spouse) exceeds ₹8
lakh for FY 2023-24. - Any member of your family (self, parents, or spouse) is a permanent/regular
government employee (excluding contractual employees). “Government”
includes Central and State Governments, Union Territory administrations,
Central and State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), statutory organizations,
and local bodies.
Financial Assistance Under PM Internship Scheme 2024 Registration Program
After joining the internship, each intern will receive monthly assistance of ₹5,000 for the entire duration of the 12-month internship. Out of which, the company will provide ₹500 from their CSR account and the rest of ₹4,500 will be provided by the government of India.
Additionally, a one-time grant of ₹6,000 will be provided by the Government of India to each intern after joining the internship. This amount will be disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after joining the internship.
Insurance coverage shall be provided to each individual intern under insurance
schemes of the Government of India, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, for which premium amount shall
be provided by Government of India.
How to Apply for Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme 2024?
Intending and eligible candidates will register on the PM Internship portal (www.pminternship.mca.gov.in), complete their profile, generate their CV, and submit their preferences from the list of opportunities available. The shortlisting process will be based on the candidates’ preferences and the requirements posted by the companies.
